Certifications

Three Stackable Certifications

Each certification validates a specific domain of demonstrated competence. They are stackable, portable, lifelong, and earned — never awarded.

Certification I

Project Leadership

Validates the ability to conceive, design, and deploy a substantive initiative from premise to operational outcome.

The Project Leadership certification recognizes individuals who have taken an idea from conception through design to deployment. This is not a theoretical exercise — it requires a living, operational project with documented outcomes.

Evidence includes project documentation, deployment records, stakeholder engagement, and measurable milestones achieved.

Certification II

Social Innovation

Recognizes the development and deployment of novel approaches to systemic social challenges.

The Social Innovation certification builds on Project Leadership by recognizing initiatives that address systemic social challenges through novel approaches. The innovation must be structural, not incremental.

Evidence includes documentation of the systemic challenge addressed, the novel approach developed, deployment context, and measurable social outcomes.

Certification III

Community Impact

Certifies measurable, documented impact on a defined community through sustained project work.

The Community Impact certification represents the highest tier — recognizing sustained, measurable impact on a defined community. This certification requires documented evidence that a project has moved beyond deployment to demonstrable community-level change.

Evidence includes community impact assessments, longitudinal data, stakeholder testimony, and documentation of systemic change initiated by the project.

Process

How Certifications Are Earned

NeXT certifications are earned through demonstrated outcomes, not through coursework, examinations, or attendance. The process is evidence-based:

01

Documentation

The individual documents their project work, outcomes, and evidence of impact according to NeXT standards.

02

Review

An independent review panel evaluates the evidence against established certification criteria.

03

Validation

Upon meeting all criteria, the certification is issued. It is lifelong and does not require renewal.

Standards

Certification Principles

Earned

Based on demonstrated outcomes, not attendance or completion of prescribed activities.

Stackable

Each certification builds on the previous, creating a cumulative credential pathway.

Portable

Designed for cross-border recognition across institutions and sectors.

Lifelong

Once earned, certifications do not expire. Competence demonstrated is competence recognized.

Independent

Issued by a body structurally independent from the programs being credentialed.

Institutional Credentialing

Organizations operating experiential education programs can credential their participants through NeXT.
